PBIS Poster Ideas Featuring School Mascots

Use your PBIS Posters to create a strong sense of community, and teach students how to make good decisions, with a message like these samples. Building your school culture around your mascot is a very sound idea. Children readily accept mascots because they are fun and engaging. They give educators a fun, friendly and very visual tool for constructing a behavioral expectation platform. The emotional incentives for students to belong to the “lion pride,” or whatever your mascot’s community is called, is incredibly powerful. Kids want to have lion friends and enjoy social success within the lion pride. They are more apt to grasp and embrace the lion rules and behavioral expectations. They give the children a road map for social success. “This is how a lion would do it,” gives them a very clear and self-relatable example for them to imitate and learn from. The welcome posters in these samples set the stage for a mascot-centric culture. Start your new school year out right, and get a Welcome Poster from Mascot Junction that features a kid-friendly version of your mascot today! How to Brand a School

How to Brand a School:

Branding a school is much more than just consistent use of school colors and a logo. In truth, a brand is really whatever people remember, and associate with, something – whether it’s a box of cereal or a school.

How to Brand a School

How to Brand a School: Use school colors consistently and use your mascot to create a strong sense of community.

So branding really has a lot to do with culture and climate. So after you’ve decorated your school with colorful posters and banners, turn to your mascot and think of ways to build a strong sense of community around being a tiger, eagle or bulldog. Make up a set of Tiger Rules. Teach kids about the Tiger Way. Call the school store Tiger Town. Reward positive behavior with Tiger Cash. Give out award certificates that feature your tiger actually demonstrating whatever the award is for. Yes – there is an easy way to do this, and I’ll tell you about it here soon.

Teach students, that whenever they have to make a decision, to think of what a tiger would do; and make sure they are surrounded by lots of visual examples of how tigers demonstrate positive behavior in different parts of the school. A great way to do this is to post Tiger Rules Posters in different parts of the school. For example, the Tiger Rules poster for the bathroom could show a tiger washing his hands. OK – so now you’re thinking “coming up with a picture of a tiger washing his hands is going to be a real trick.”

So here’s the easy way to flood your school with visual examples of your school mascot visually demonstrating positive behavior – Use a PBIS Roll Out Kit from Mascot Junction. These kits are available for more than 80 kid-friendly mascots. Each kit includes clip art images of your school mascot doing things like washing his hands, sharing toys, putting things away, respecting adults, demonstrating leadership and much more. Also included are posters, banners, signs, award certificates, gotcha rewards, t-shirts and even temporary tattoos. Everything features your school mascot, and everything is customized with your school logo, colors and details from your PBIS program.

Let Mascot Junction do all the hard work for you. All you do is roll it out!
